Raytheon has been awarded a $459 million contract to deliver modernized cryptographic voice terminals.

Under the five-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, Raytheon will support the VINSON/Advanced Narrowband Digital Voice Terminal (ANDVT) Cryptographic Modernization (VACM) program.

"The VACM End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) will maintain function and capability of the existing VINSON and ANDVT ECUs to the extent allowed by the National Security Agency," according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

The contract was awarded by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Joint Base San Antonio, which includes Lackland Air Force Base, in Texas.
